All those who incline Ukraine to negotiations with Russia are ready to sacrifice Ukrainian territories for the sake of ending the conflict.
This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine in Berlin Oleksiy Makeev in response to a question about his attitude to the statement of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to become a mediator in the negotiations.
“Those who call for negotiations have not yet made any concrete proposals on what a negotiating strategy might look like. What is the purpose? Unfortunately, in recent years we have seen that many negotiations took place at the expense of Ukraine and only led to the fact that Ukraine lost more territory and people,” Makeev said in an interview with the German edition of RND. He said that Ukraine needs allies, not intermediaries.
The President of Brazil expressed his readiness to be a mediator in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, RT reports . He also said that Brazil is not going to provide weapons to Kyiv. In the German media, Lula’s statement was called a “slap in the face” to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Tsargrad reports .
