TAWAL completed the acquisition of United Group’s towers and associated assets in Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia
stc Group has announced its subsidiary, TAWAL, has begun operations in Europe having completed the acquisition of United Group’s telecom tower assets. They are 4,800 sites spread across Bulgaria, Croatia, and Slovenia. The deal was announced in April.
stc group’s stated strategy to expand and grow, and hopes to tap into the need for more masts as 5G proliferates in Europe and beyond. Last year it launched TAWAL Pakistan and runs an estate of more than 15,000 towers within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Significant investment
TAWAL says it “Aims to bring significant investments, best processes and practices, as well as innovative products to its portfolio. The company will leverage its expertise in managing critical and robust infrastructure across KSA to bolster the European markets by accelerating the deployment of ICT infrastructure in those markets,” the press statement said.
It also quoted Mohammed Alhakbani, CEO, TAWAL, saying: “We are delighted to launch our operations in Europe. This achievement constitutes an important turning point for TAWAL to expand its footprints to other important markets.
“Leveraging our resources and best practices, we aim to bring even more value to the European markets by enabling our customers to operate more effectively and efficiently.”
