Professio Energia, RP Global to Jointly Develop Renewable Energy Projects

Croatian renewables developer Professio Energia and Austria-based RP Global have signed a deal on the joint development of projects with an overall capacity of 266 MW.

Professio Energia said it signed a term sheet agreement with RP Global Projekti, fully owned by RP Global Austria, on the joint development of renewable energy projects.

According to the deal, the two companies will cooperate on a portfolio of eight solar power projects with a total peak capacity of up to 266 MW.

The facilities will be installed in locations defined by the existing energy approvals for operational wind farms owned by Professio Energia, the firm added.

Professio Energia said the agreement ensures the further development of renewable energy projects in Croatia and the region, pointing out it is one of its main strategic goals.

Of note, Professio Energia earlier signed the first corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) in Croatia, with Hrvatski Telekom.

According to its website, the company is developing wind farms, solar power plants, and storage systems with a total capacity of 200 MW. The company built and put into operation three wind farms in Croatia: Rudine (34.2 MW), Danilo (43.7 MW), and Zadar 2 and 3 (36.8 MW).

RP Global has already built two wind farms in Croatia

RP Global is an Austrian renewables developer with a global project pipeline of 15,800 MW. Wind and solar power dominate its portfolio.

The company is also active in Southeastern Europe, primarily in Croatia, where it works on projects for photovoltaic facilities and wind farms with a combined capacity of 500 MW. In Serbia, it recently presented a project for a solar power plant with a battery.

RP Global has built two wind farms in Croatia, with an overall 78 MW.
